چکیده
Time slotted channel hopping is an enhanced access mechanism for IEEE 802.15.4 that improves many aspects of the original protocol, like determinism and power consumption. Besides preventing collisions, time slotting allows motes to stay asleep most time. In addition, achieves more stable communication, in terms packet losses transmission latency, spite wireless spectrum variations. this paper, specific effects latter are investigated from both qualitative quantitative points view. particular, a thorough experimental campaign was carried out on real devices, deployed environment performing realistic data exchanges, when they exposed different interference conditions, assess benefits it brings over case transmissions performed fixed channel. Experimental results confirm that, frequency kept repeatedly changing, communication quality sensibly less affected by co-located Wi-Fi infrastructures, which makes network behavior predictable hence intrinsically dependable

Towards efficient coexistence of IEEE 802.15.4e TSCH and IEEE 802.11
A major challenge in wide deployment of smart wireless devices, using different technologies and sharing the same 2.4 GHz spectrum, is to achieve coexistence across multiple technologies. The IEEE 802.11 (WLAN) and the IEEE 802.15.4e TSCH (WSN) where designed with different goals in mind and both play important roles for respective applications. However, they cause mutual interference and degra...

Emerging Industrial IoT applications, such as smart factories, require reliable communication and robustness against interference from co-located wireless systems. To address these challenges, frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) has been used by different protocols, including IEEE802.15.4-2015 TSCH. FHSS can be improved with the aid of blacklists to avoid bad frequencies. The quality of ch...
متن کاملSpectrum-aware Adaptive Communication for the Internet of Things
The Internet of Things (IoT) is widely expected to be the next stage of development for the Internet and brings together material artefacts and their information representations. One of its enabling infrastructures is low-power wireless networks which due to their restricted capacities are especially sensitive to ambient noise from co-located wireless devices utilising the same band. This thesi...
متن کاملAdaptive synchronization in multi-hop TSCH networks
Time Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) enables highly reliable and ultra-low power wireless networking, and is at the heart of multiple industrial standards. It has become the de facto standard for industrial low-power wireless solutions, and a true enabler for the Industrial Internet of Things. In a TSCH network, all nodes remain tightly synchronized by periodically communicating with one another...
